As work continues on the content--nearly finished crunch-ing out the new NPCs, and the mapping continues--artwork commissions are progressing nicely.
I'm thrilled to see an advance preview of a major scene from the Berinncorte Basecamp book, which features the external City Gate in the aftermath of the events of Dark Obelisk 1.
To address the question you're all likely to have, you might care about this, even though it's not for Dark Obelisk 2, because Jack's art style and talent are exactly the kind of tone I'm hoping to set in DO2... and I have several additional scenes lined up for him to tackle for that book. So excited!

The finished scene will be half-page with some more detail, but so far, it looks amazing. I continue to be just stunned at how talented the artists I get to work with are at adapting a few lines of description into an emotionally-evocative product.
Kudos to Jack Kaiser (http://jack-kaiser.deviantart.com/); this is the first time working with him and I'm super excited about his art style and his work thus far.

Just a quick update this time: Mapping has begun in earnest. As in full-color, fully-detailed, official mapping, not just the pencil-by-hand stuff that I've been doing thus far.
Probably going to do a lot of the BB and DO2 stuff in the same stretch since I'm most productive when I just plug away at maps all in one go.

Huzzah, thanks to a major backer just now (you know who you are...), we've crossed the $4k mark and unlocked Greatsnake Compound.
I've added a ho-hum Stretch Goal at the $6,500 mark; basically it's the free map pack for Barrowton should that be unlocked.

Um. I really need to draw the line here at some point, recognizing that I've got lots of NPCs to add in, and there's a hard limit of 840 pages for hardcover books on the publisher's printhouse!
