BackerKit: Additional Add-On Options
almost 9 years ago – Thu, Jun 01, 2017 at 02:47:47 PM

TL;DR

I tried to simplify BackerKit too much, and prevented some backers from doing what they want to do.  My bad, and swiftly corrected.

Detail

At the request of some backers, I've just now added Add-On options for the following products in BackerKit:

  • Fire & Gold
  • Northern Mountain Adventure
  • The Highest Form of Flattery
  • Prior Lives
  • Aquilae: Pantheon & Tribute
  • Husks

If you would like to add on any of these, and have already completed your survey, let me know and I will resend the survey link and unlock your response.

If you would like any other individual, a la carte product in our pipeline, that's NOT listed above, message me and I will add it.

I am really sorry about the hassle, here.

FWIW, the feedback I got from the DO2 BackerKit process and the options presented was overwhelmingly that it was simply too much: nearly every backer either went Completionist, or ignored the other products; only a small handful picked and chose individual a la carte products.

My omission of the dozens and dozens of individual-product options in the Berinncorte Basecamp BackerKit was merely meant to simplify, not to try and get more money out of already-generous backers.

So, once again, my apologies. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.

They say there are no atheists in foxholes.  Although there are no grim trenches outside the embattled city of Berinncorte, the concept certainly matches the mood.  Hunkered down, constantly anticipating attack and threats, and an aura of gloom and pain: these are the conditions outside the once-bright city.

In such conditions, citizens under siege turn to religion more than ever.  In the makeshift wake of the Fall of the city, the Sheergath faithful have forged a new place of worship.

Interior of the Hunter's Hut.  The ruins to the southwest are of a destroyed Watchspire (from a previous map preview).

For those who celebrate, have a fantastic holiday weekend this weekend!

In the wake of the Fall and the evacuation of Berinncorte proper, blacksmith Dimblebruffe sets up shop outside the city walls in a series of makeshift tents.

Ungridded and not marked up for the GM, but still, gives you a sense of what's going on here.

I realize these are probably a bit bland without GM markups indicating what's what and what there is to do, but still, to give you a sense of things, here are some maps.

Particularly psyched about the fog effect in the "after" shot.

Here's an example of an exterior structure's interior.  I love the way the transparency preserves the feel of the tent, but allows for clarity as to what's underneath it.

FYI, every "tent of interest" will have an interior local map. Probably about a dozen or two. Simple things, really, and in many campaigns, maybe not even used. But I thought the same thing about the Cryptkeeper's Shack in Dark Obelisk 1, and having an interior map for that turned out to fuel one of the funniest things that happened to the PCs when I was GM'ing DO1.
